Who Runs This Joint?!
Hi! I'm Jessica McClure! I wrote this little bio 'case you're wondering who the face behind this production is!
I grew up in a small town of 10,000 people in northern Illinois. My sister and I were raised by a wonderful family, and we're all still close. During my childhood, I enjoyed reading, writing, playing the piano, and being involved in my church.
After graduating high school, I went to a religious university, and while there, I really started becoming who I wanted to be. For me, college was filled with making lots of wonderful friends, some of which (I am happy to say!) are life-long, including the love of my life, Jedediah!
We met at a swing dance and proceeded to Lindy Hop into each other's hearts! After dating on and off for about two years, we decided to get married and I moved to the Phoenix area, where he was already living. Our wedding was on the best day of the year--my birthday! (I swear we didn't plan that, it just ended up being the best day for it!)
Not only did I become a wife, but I also became a step-mom on that day! Jed was a great guide through my first timid steps as a parent whenever his amazing daughter, Gabi, was in our home.
As she would say, I became both kinds of mom (step-mom and birth-mom ;) exactly two years to the day from our wedding vows. I spent my birthday in the hospital, welcoming our completely fantastic son, Taggert, into the world! I feel like I was born to be his mom.
My family is everything to me, and I relish any chance I get to improve our life together! I feel like my sweet little family couldn't be more perfect for me.
As for my sling history, I was introduced to babywearing when I saw a mother of two carrying her toddler in a Maya Wrap at Target. It was then that I determined to become a babywearer when I got the chance. Now that I have been slinging for almost two years, I cannot imagine being a peaceful mother without one!
I am so excited to help you become a babywearer and take advantage of this terrific tool that has turned so many everyday moments into shared, loving, stress-free experiences for my family!
